About this watch

I am a big fan of these pieces and am happy to say I have had a few although being honest they never seem to stay with me for long.

The Omega Seamaster is one of the most renowned dive watches of the 20th century, shooting to fame in 1957 with the introduction of the famous Seamaster 300 divers watch. Between 1957 and 1987 Omega produced a wide range of professional and semi-professional dive watches, all manufactured to the highest quality.

This example is a Seamaster 120 ‘deep blue’ so known because of its striking blue dial and deep blue bezel. The watch is really distinctive and has a great wrist presence due to its 40mm case (excluding crown). Whilst depth rated to 120 meters these watches shared the same features as the Seamaster 300, including screw case back and screw crown, they also incorporated the Omega Bakelite bezel and hesalite crystal.

This deep blue (reference 166.073) dates from c 1969 and the case and bezel are in good original vintage condition. the original tritium dial and matching hands have aged with a stunning even patina.

Fitted to a matching Blue fabric NATO strap

This really is one of the coolest and most distinctive Omega dive watches of the 20th century, they are becoming increasingly rare.
