About this watch

The Regatta was the second variant of the Chronostop jumbo line up and was aimed at yachting enthusiasts complete with blue and red rotating bezel its eye-catching appearance has proved popular even with land lubbers.

The Omega Seamaster reference 145.008 was released around 1969 sporting a substantial 41mm stainless steel case and inner rotating bezel and came in a pilots and divers variation along with this regatta.

The movement is the cal 865 which is a very close relative of the cal 861 which powered the famous Speedmaster range ,although the Chronostop doesn’t reach the lofty heights of the Speedmaster price wise at the time of its launch this was a special watch and won many industry awards, the high beat movements were only ever seen in this range.

The inner minute rotating bezel is operated by the signed crown at 10 and rotates freely and the Chronostop timing function is operated by the correctly unsigned crown at 2 and again this functions exactly as it should. The reaming signed crown at 4 is used to set the time and to wind the manual winding movement.
