About this watch

As you probably know by now I am a huge fan of vintage dive watches and honestly believe they offer outstanding value particularly the "sleepers" little known brands that made great quality pieces many unfortunately didn't last through the crisis of the seventies but the watches they left us a s a legacy are truly fantastic .

The Cadola watch company is one of these relatively unknown manufacturers, Cadola was manufactured in SA Neuchatel Froidevaux and made some extremely well made and high end watches, including a small range of top end period divers watches. This example is a 300M all stainless steel divers watch dating from circa 1968, the watch is simply remarkable and made to the highest standards, the 40mm stainless steel case has a screw back and stainless steel bezel with anodized insert, all of which are in remarkable and untouched condition, the case is showing the usual signs of age for a tool watch of this type but is still in excellent condition.

The dial and hands are the standout items of the watch, the high gloss black dial is complimented by wonderful Honey luminous material and matching baton hands. The watch features a 24 jewel automatic movement, which is running exactly as it should and in stunning original condition. The watch also features a screw down crown (very rare for this period) and features a helium escape valve (again very rare for this period)

This really is a stunning piece and a very very rare watch, we have only ever seen one other Cadola diver of this type for sale and that was in very poor condition. This is a sure fire investment opportunity but also a wonderful and practical everyday watch, which can be worn as any modern divers watch and with all the features, including screw crown, helium value but with an amazing retro feel.
