About this watch

I am delighted to have found a great example of this iconic Seamaster produced to celebrate the 1956 Melbourne Olympics which also marked the 25th anniversary of Omegas Olympic debut ,the case back is engraved with the Olympic cross of merit which was awarded to Omega at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki in recognition of Omega’s “outstanding service to the world of sports”, not only is this a rare and important piece of Omegas history it’s also piece that’s very wearable and a great talking point

This particular example has survived in excellent and all original condition, the ivory dial shows just the slightest patination under the right light conditions and the 34 mm solid 18ct gold case is among the best I have seen, the faceted lugs are unpolished and retaining all crisp angles unlike so many examples that have been badly polished in the past.

The automatic cal 471 movement is keeping perfect time and like all our pieces carries our 12-month warranty.

This remarkable watch comes in the equally stunning and original box, itself adorned with the Olympic cross of merit and a superb display piece in its own right.

The watch is fitted to an original vintage Omega tan leather strap and finished with an original Omega buckle.

This is a superb example of a highly collectible solid gold Omega watch worthy of its place in any serious collection.
