The Omega Constellation was introduced in the mid 20th Century as Omegas flagship wrist watch, housing their very best Chronometer rated movements and intended as both a sports watch and a dress watch. The design has become a true classic in every way and they are know high coveted and collected by all from professional Collectors to amateur enthusiasts.
During the last 70 years there have been dozens of iterations of the Constellation series but non as stunning as those examples in solid gold. This 1959 Calendar model is housed in a near new old stock 18K gold case, the dial is stunning Champagne silver and it really is a watch to behold, as cool with a suit as it is casually and a true timeless classic.
Considering the watch is almost 60 years old it really does look like it just left the shop, there are a few very light marks on the case and a couple of age related marks on the dial but nothing that detracts. The watch is 34 mm excluding the crown and wears extremely well, it is presented on an original period 9K rolled gold Montal bracelet, which is (we believe) original to the watch.
These Calendar models were £133 when new in 1958, compared to the average weekly wage of £6, they really were the absolute flagship watches. This is a really very special watch, it wears beautifully, the movement is mint with no loss of plating. It’s a perfect choice for any occasion.
