Omega Seamaster 146.011-69 ‘Bullhead’

This is one of the rarest production Omega Chronographs of the 1960’s and 1970’s, it was produced for a very limited period of time in 1969 and remained in Omega collection for only around 18 months.

The watch was produced as an entry level Omega Chronograph as part of the Chronostop range with a radical new design, which was aimed at drivers and sportsman. Whilst cutting edge the watch (like the Paul Newman Rolex Daytona) wasn’t hugely popular when new, which makes them extremely rare and as such highly collectible now.

The watch ran a unique configuration of the 860 calibre movement but with a date function under calibre 930, which was used in this watch and a De-Ville model only and produced in very small numbers.

This example came to us in truly barn find condition, there are lots of examples out there with dubious history or numerous replacement parts and redials etc, this one was supplied with all the relevant ‘war wounds’ you would expect from a vintage chronograph. There were two dial options, matt brown and gold stardust, this example has the much rarer gold stardust configuration with original matching hands (as supplied when new)

The watch has been fully overhauled and restored by Swiss Time Services in the UK, which is outside of factory the largest Omega service centre in the world and their vintage restoration centre. This has included a full overhaul of the original calibre 930 movement (which has the correct 29 million serial number and is only a few serial number apart from the museum display watch), the case has been laser welded (to remove dinks) and professional lapped and has been returned to as new condition. The watch has also been fitted with a NOS correct Omega Bullhead Corfam strap and buckle.

The watch is supplied with the full balance of Omegas 24 month warranty and total peace of mind, this is a remarkable, honest and very rare Omega Chronograph of which only a very few are available worldwide and in my humble opinion is the best out there.

The watch is also supplied with the original sales brochure and the original box.
