About this watch

The Rolex Daytona in many of its variations is one of the most desirable and collectible watches available and I am delighted to be able to offer this quite exceptional piece.

The 16520 was first introduced in 1988 and remained in production until 2000. With the introduction of the reference came the first automatic movement in a Daytona, initially a heavily modified Zenith El Primero 400 caliber which today is highly prized by collectors, the 16520 was also the first Daytona with sapphire glass along with other significant modifications this was the to become the blueprint for what we recognise as all modern Daytona’s.

For the first few years of production the 16520 also had the unique feature of an inverted six appearing on the bottom sub dial, after around 1994 the six was returned to its upright position.

The watch I have on offer today is a superb example manufactured in 1991 featuring a perfect inverted six dial along with the highly prized Zenith movement with the added benefit of also having the original Rolex papers and box.

The comes on its correct and perfect condition ref 78360 bracelet.

This example from 1991 comes complete with its;
original papers supplied by the esteemed retailer Bucherer in Luzern.
Rolex wallet and guarantee booklet
Chronometer swing tag
Correct 1991 calender

Both inner and outer boxes.

The 40mm stainless steel case is in excellent condition as is the correct bracelet ref 78360 which is full size and with almost no stretch. Overall, the watch is in superb condition showing only very slight wear as you would expect from a piece of this age.
