Produced in 2005 to mark the 100th Anniversary of the world famous retailer Wempe ,a remarkable feat in itself considering the company first sold watches from the front living room of the family home of Gerhard Wempe’s Aunt.
Produced in a very limited run of only 100 worldwide this piece is number 08 out of 100.
The exhibition case back reveals the superb automatic cal 970 movement,Technically the watch is a worthy tribute for the anniversary celebration ,the dial features a day and night indicator and the GMT function allows the setting of a second hour hand to a different time zone.This was the worlds first Reverso produced with an automatic movement and sapphire glass case back.
The Reverso, first released in 1931, and has always proved o be desirable although this example certainly elevates the Reverso .
The watch is presented on a black genuine JLC alligator strap finished with steel JLC clasp.
