About this watch

The Omega Seamaster 300 ref 165024 is a very well-regarded professional dive watch and has proved highly popular with both divers and sports watch fans all over the world and you are forgiven for thinking that this is just another standard production piece albeit a very nice example however looks can often be deceiving and this exceptional piece deserves much more than a second look.

Manufactured in the technology school at Le Locle the entire piece was produced by one master watch maker in 1968 as indicated by the engraving on the case back but its inside the case that things get even more special, the automatic cal 552 24 jewel movement is unique with a prototype serial number 00000550, The movement not only has the unique serial number but also is shown without the usual plated finish.

The Technicum is the world famous Le Locle School of watchmaking in Switzerland founded in 1868

The watch itself is in nice original condition although it has clearly been worn frequently just as it was intended to be when it was first assembled in 1968, The case is crisp with sharp lugs and the correct acrylic bezel with tritium five-minute markers and numerals has aged to perfectly match the tritium lume on the hour markers. The watch even has the correct Omega signed glass.

The movement runs exactly as it should having been recently serviced and as with all our pieces is guaranteed for a full 12 months

This a special watch for many reasons but equally a watch that can be worn and enjoyed daily
