The fantastic value for money of these pieces amazes me, especially when they have it all, great build quality, proven brand history and using the renowned Valjoux 72 manual winding chronograph movement as found in the famous multi-million-pound selling Paul Newman Rolex Daytona’s. The Longines dive watches from the 1960’s and early seventies are among the very best available and yet for the time being remain somewhat of a watch fans best kept secret, I for one am not sure how long that will continue for but while I can find pieces like this, I will always buy them.
This piece from c1970 oozes the style of that period including the bold use of colour, in this instance the bright orange Bakelite bezel which is completely original and free from cracks and the matching hands on two subdials.
The 41 mm solid stainless steel cushion shaped case wears very well and is presented on a genuine Longines leather rally strap.
