Originally delivered to Ostersetzer in Italy on April 22nd, 1949, this stunning example demonstrates perfectly why Longines were regarded as second to none in terms of design and quality at producing not only some of the most highly regarded chronographs of the day but also excellent time only oversize pieces such as this fine example.
At 37mm the stainless-steel case has remarkable presence and yet at only 11mm thick it also sits discreetly under the cuff whilst the very slim bezel only adds to the appearance of the watch seemingly increasing its overall size.
Inside the case sits a perfect crisp white dial set off with the original blue steeled handset
The watch runs on the famous cal 12.68N manual winding movement which is the same amazing condition as the rest of this stunning piece.
The watch will be delivered with the extract from Longines archives which confirms delivery to the appointed agent at the time in Italy Ostersetzer and also all serial numbers are correct, we have also obtained a letter direct from Longines confirming the dial layout as correct, this piece is without doubt among the finest examples of this highly desirable reference available anywhere in the world.
