“Grail” watches are often spoken about and its fair to say everyone’s “grail “may be different and so mine may surprise some people. Quartz watches as mentioned on this site many times in the past can be frowned on by many collectors as is seventies styling add to that an obscene amount of yellow 18 ct gold and a blue adventurine dial and I admit when I first saw an example of this watch I wasn’t hooked until I began to appreciate just how advanced this watch was and still is ,when it was released at Basle world in 1974 a run of just 200 which is rumored to have sold out within two hours at the price of £3,600.00 in 1974 !!
Sad to say when so few were made that due to the high value of Gold many of these great watches are missing the sold 18 ct gold bracelet which is why I am delighted that this example comes on its original bracelet.
The adventurine dial on this piece is in pristine condition and in the right light is simply breathtaking and each piece is completely unique.
The watch has just come back to me from Swiss Tec in the UK who have fitted a new correct battery and completed a water test and given the case and bracelet a refinish to factory spec and changed any stretched pins so I am pleased to say this exceptional piece is not only mechanically perfect but also in outstanding condition throughout.
I am also happy to include a correct shark skin strap and omega clasp so if the new owner decides to keep the bracelet for special occasions the watch can be worn on the shark skin strap .
