About this watch

The Omega Constellation was introduced in the mid-20th Century as Omegas flagship wrist watch, housing their very best Chronometer rated movements and intended as both a sports watch and a dress watch. The design has become a true classic in every way and they are known high coveted and collected by all from professional Collectors to amateur enthusiasts.

During the last 70 years there have been dozens of iterations of the Constellation series, this 2887 models is without doubt one of their rarest productions models. They are so rare that until recently less than 12 were known of, even now there are only about 20 recorded examples. This one came from the USA, it is a 2887-1 with original 500 series movement dating to 1958. The watch is so rare as it was the first of the new iteration Constellation with a screw back, it also had a unique dial specific to this reference and as such it really is something truly one off and you will not find another, especially in this simply stunning original condition.

The watch has been fully overhauled by Swiss Time Services in the UK (the vintage Omega experts), it has been kept completely original, the case has been cleaned but not refinished. The 35mm case excluding crown wears very well and the watch is complimented by the original and extremely rare omega DS&S Milanese bracelet, perhaps the best Milanese bracelet ever made.

There are a few light marks on the case and under certain light there is some lacquers hazing on the dial, but the watch is simply perfect and to find such a rare reference is one thing, to find one like this is impossible.
