The original Seamaster was introduced in 1948 the year that Omega was official timekeeper for the 1948 London Olympic games so it was a natural conclusion that Omega would celebrate the 2012 London Olympic games with a limited edition of some kind However I believe that the designers excelled themselves with this piece and as it was limited to just 1948 pieces it makes it even more desirable .
The watch is a perfect homage to the original seamaster but with great modern advances, the case size is a very wearable 39 mm which although modern retains its vintage feel not least down to the slightly domed crystal.
Whilst the original Seamaster was a manual wind movement this piece is treated to the ultra-modern cal 2022 Co Axial movement which COSC certified and has a 48-hour power reserve.
The opaline dial is simply decorated with 18ct white gold hour markers but the small second hand stands out with a blued finish.
This example is in unworn condition and retains its original case back stickers intact and comes complete with inner and outer boxes commemorative boxes, all cards and booklets and ltd edition numbered certificate.
