Omega Seamaster 300, 165.024 divers watch (big triangle)

 The Omega Seamaster 300 is one of the most famous and renowned divers watches of the 20^th Century. The first incarnation of these remarkable watches was released in 1957 as part of the now famous ‘professional’ trilogy, they were an instant hit with professional and semi professional divers alike. In 1962/63 Omega updated the model in to what has become one of the most iconic dive watches in history, the 165.024, the case was larger and incorporated a crown guard, the bezel was a much more durable Bakelite version and the watch was much more substantial at over 40 mm in diameter, the watch also used an updated cal 550-552 movement, which in a tweaked format was also used in Omega chronometer models.

The watch was designed for ultimate durability, hewn from solid stainless steel, with screw back and in later models screw crown, the mat black dial with tritium markers and hands was easily legible and the large bezel much easier to use under water.

The example presented here dates from c 1966 and is the highly desirable ‘big triangle’ model, it is in simply time warp condition and one of the best we have ever seen. It has been fully serviced by Simon Freese watch makers and is totally original and as it should be, a truly remarkable piece.

The watch is presented with the original box and papers and is as complete set as you will likely find. Examples like this are now extremely rare and values have trebled in four years, grab this beauty whilst you can, it will not last long.
