About this watch

The Rolex explorer was originally made famous by its inclusion in Sir Edmund Hilary’s successful climb of mount Everest in 1953 although the watch itself didn’t actually make the summit.

Prices of these early explorer models will reach the same lofty heights price wise which is why I am delighted to offer the canny collector the opportunity to capture this Explorer dialed Rolex precision ref 1002 from c 1963.

The 34 mm stainless steel case wears extremely well and is fitted to a black leather strap. This watch comes complete in its Rolex box.

This great vintage Rolex also benefits from just returning from a complete mechanical overhaul at the UK largest vintage watch specialist Swiss Tec and so is also fully guaranteed for 12 months
