The Rolex 16660 is a firm favourite with Rolex collectors and one I tip as a piece with great investment potential although I must admit I really am hoping that this special watch finds a home with someone who will want to wear it every day and enjoy it as it should be and not put it in a safe and lock it away.

This stunning example from 1984 has a superb crisp case and comes on an equally fine Rolex 93160 bracelet with solid end links which do wear very well however take a close look at the completely original MK4 dial and this watch goes from really nice to very special the stardust dial has to be one of the nicest I have ever seen, the effect is very even rather than poorly distributed or blotchy patches as on other examples I have seen. I just hope our photography can display it well enough.

The Starburst effect on Rolex dials had been well documented and is a result of oxidization to the lacquer on a small batch of dials, like all natural aging processes the pattern is unique and as many dials have been changed in the past when serviced by Rolex now very few exist, and I think it would be hard to find a Seadweller triple six with a nicer starburst dial.

It’s a worth noting that the Mk1V dial was the only dial in the triple six production run to show the hyphen in SWISS-T<25 to be off centre and placed to the right of the Six O’clock index ,this same feature is seen on the 150 triple six pieces supplied to Comex

This excellent watch comes with the original and equally hard to find genuine Rolex decompression tables along with Rolex booklets, original 1984 calendar, wallet, and box

This is an exceptional and completely unique vintage Rolex Seadweller and worthy of a place in any collection but also a watch that can be enjoyed on a daily basis.
