About this watch

Originally released in the early 1960’s the Super Kontiki is a serious divers watch and easily the equal of other greats of the period like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms ,Rolex Submariner or Seamaster 300 from Omega although arguably the Kontiki has the cooler back story being named after the wooden raft Kontiki that sailed across the from South America to Polynesia in 1947, an epic 8000-mile journey. during which all crew members wore an Eterna watch .

This example is amongst the rarest versions as it is the last release the 130 FTP from1971 running on the improved cal 1489K automatic movement and as you can see this excellent example shows all the hallmarks of a great watch from the seventies ,The chapter ring dial features baton tritium filled hour markers This marked the shift in design that would remain .

The 40mm stainless steel case is in superb condition and the automatic movement keeps great time having been recently serviced
