The chronostop range from Omega is probably one of the last gems that is still very affordable and I have been a fan for a long time ,Although most collectors think of a chronostop as a smaller 34mm watch this model 145.007 comes from the Seamaster range, launched in 1966 ,this piece dates to 1967 and is remarkable condition.
The 41 mm cushion case retains all its crisp lines and is given a very sporty look by the deep internal dish and bezel along with the chequered outer track. Add to this an orange chronograph centre second hand and this is a watch that catches the eye.
The movement is the cal 865 which is a very close relative of the cal 861 which powered the famous Speedmaster range ,although the Chronostop doesn’t reach the lofty heights of the speedmaster price wise at the time of its launch this was a special watch and won many industry awards ,The high beat movements were only ever seen in this range
This fantastic example is further enhanced by the addition of a period Omega Black leather sports strap and stainless-steel buckle
