Omega Speedmaster 105.003-65 SOLD

Iconic watches appear to be everywhere these days but seldom has that title been more deserving than with this piece  the 105.003-65 or ‘Ed White’ as it is known.Many of you will know the piece is named after the Astronaut Ed White as this was the model he wore during his space walk then NASA went on to select the 145.012 to accompany the following manned missions to the moon

Good examples of this model are  amongst the fastest appreciating Omegas on the market, with values having risen a great deal over recent  years .

This example is a remarkable and we know the history right back to the first owner of the watch. Unlike so many it is totally complete and totally original, benefiting from its original dial and hands and original Dot Over Ninety or DON bezel.

The watch was serviced at Omega UK in 2010 and has recently been fully checked by our own watch maker. It has previously been very lightly refinished but again the case is one of the best out there, having no loss of profile. This is most noticeable on the edge of the case where the clearly defined lip on the case edge remains.

The watch is running it’s original 22 million serial number 321 movement, which again retains all original parts and is in remarkable and un touched condition with no ageing or wear.

Everything on this watch from the antimagnetic dust cover to bezel has been retained with the exception of the crown, crystal and pushers which were replaced with original Omegas items at a previous service.

The dial and hands are remarkable and again in time-warp condition, the original luminous material has turned a wonderful honey patina on both the dial and hands.

The watch is presented on a genuine period Omega Milanese bracelet which is correct 19 mm, this is the swiss version of the British  DS&S bands which were available as factory options for these Speedmasters and compliments the watch perfectly. The watch comes with its original box, original instructions and original guarantee card….. you will not find a more complete set.
