About this watch

I am delighted to be able to offer you for sale arguably one the most sought-after Rolex Daytona variants, the big red 6263, desirable in any condition but seldom seen in this condition, it even has the original Rolex sticker on the case back.

The 6263 reference was produced from 1971 through to 1987, it was during this period that the Daytona actually gained popularity as earlier models were not popular with Rolex customers, Yes a great many will be kicking themselves when they think back to the days when Rolex dealers would actually have sports watches in stock and even offer discounts off the list price of around £200 !

This stunning example dates to 1976 as confirmed by the 4128XXX serial number

The immaculate silver dial sports the iconic red floating Daytona insignia, the classic look of the dial is also enhanced by the crisp black subdials, The stick hands and baton markers are all intact as are the lume dots which have aged to an ivory colour.

The stainless-steel case shows no signs of polishing in the past and the lugs remain thick, the 78350 bracelet is in equally fine condition and is secured with the correct 571 end links

The manual winding cal 727 runs perfectly keeping time to within a few seconds per day and the chrono sets and resets to zero correctly.
