The 16800 was originally introduced in 1979 and was equipped with the automatic cal 3035 with quick set date, other changes saw the depth rating increase to 300meters ,not that I shall put that to the test anytime soon!
This example is among the last with the matt dial and circular hour markers and dates to 1984 just before the introduction of the white gold surrounded hour markers. Some purist collectors argue that this is the last real vintage Submariner .
The 40mm stainless steel case is fitted to the Rolex oyster bracelet ref 93150
The bezel has started to turn a desirable grey colour and although this is no safe queen its a great vintage piece and will make an excellent choice as a daily wearer whilst also prove to be a good investment .
