About this watch
Very possibly one of the nicest examples of a 1978 Rolex Datejust ref 1601 you will ever see, strong words I know but this watch is 45 years old and is truly remarkable.
The 36 mm 18ct gold and stainless steel Datejust is a classic watch and never more so than with a silver pie pan dial but what elevates this piece even further is the addition of the sigma symbol on the dial which indicates the use of solid 18ct gold baton hour markers and fluted bezel.
The Cal 1570 automatic movement is in equally good condition and runs perfectly having been recently serviced.
The watch comes fitted to the original 18ct gold and stainless-steel jubilee bracelet.
Genuinely a great looking watch that belies its age and can be worn on any occasion.
