About this watch

WHY YOU CAN BUY WITH CONFIDENCE

I make no apologies for the detailed description I have given for this extremely exciting piece which will make a worthy addition to any serious collection.
This a spectacular and rare beast, it is one of the finest examples of a jumbo Omega calibre 30T2 in existence. The case is 35mm excluding the crown, 18mm at the lugs and it is in simply time warp condition as you can clearly see from the images. The case itself is very close to new condition, it’s never been refinished or messed with and has no dinks or loss of profile. The crown, crystal etc are all original to the watch.

Most 30T2 watches were 33mm cases, which was still large at the time of production between 1930 and 1945, when the fashion was for smaller watches between 30 and 33mm. These 35mm cases where made in very small numbers and those that did survive have often been damaged or molested or had badly refinished dials or cases, this example is untouched and near new condition.

The dial is wonderful and the real stand out, never refinished and totally original and a delight to look at, this dial configuration is extremely rare and one of only a handful ever seen. It is very similar to the French cased 30T2RG Chronometres in that it is a three tone dial is opposing numbers and mirror inner chapter, very very rare. It is also special because of the size of the dial, giving very little case profile and considerable dial profile.

The dial has some light age related patina but certainly nothing that detracts and considering the watch is north of 70 years old it is quite frankly remarkable condition. This model is also especially rare as it is a center second version not the more common sub second variety.

The watch is supplied on new Alligator grain band with the original 16mm 1940’s buckle (which is Omega stamped but without Omega symbol).

The watch has just received £200+ of service work at Obsolete watches in the UK, those of you who know John Senior know he is a master with these type of movements and his work as ever is exemplary.

The movement in the watch is pristine, it is a 10 million serial (1940-1945) and the earlier silver coloured cal 30T2 not the later pink plated version.

This is amongst the rarest Omega available, a quick google search will reveal firstly very few jumbo 30T2’s, non in this condition and you will never find one with this dial configuration, this watch is simply unique and extremely rare and desirable.
