About this watch
Possibly one of the most undervalued Rolex sports watch and that is generally because not many people actually realise that the turn o graph series of oyster perpetual date just's was the first true sports watch for Rolex and introduced many features now taken for granted on many other more highly prized models .The turn o graph was the first Rolex with a rotating bezel and also the first to feature the cyclops viewing window so common on the famous submariner and It was originally designed for the Us air force elite Thunderbird aeronautical display team .
This example from c 1969/70 features the solid 18 ct gold bezel the case measures 35 mm across excluding crown however these watches wear very big due to the wide gold bezel which increases the overall size to approx 36.5 mm exc crown
