About this watch

There are two challenges in watch collecting ,first find the watch, sometimes far harder than it sounds then secondly find the hard to find watch in incredibly hard to find condition. Its these ridiculous challenges that keep us up till all hours but the rewards when they come make it all worth while ,

So here I offer you one such watch ,

The omega cal 30 T2 15 jewel Movement is the famed movement used by Omega to meet the stringent criteria set by the British ministry of defense for the WWW watches ordered in the late 1940's for our front line servicemen .So the time keeping quality of the movement used in this piece is second to none . This early movement has the scarcer silver finish to it as you would hope for in such an early watch

Add to the famed movement a solid 33 mm 9 ct gold case signed by Montal made in England much scarcer than a Denison or even Shackleton case and hallmarked in Birmingham 1945 along with the completely original dial and hands and you have a really great piece.

The word admiralty can be seen engraved on the case back however unfortunately due to the passage of time not by the naked eye and I can't make out the rest of the engraving so I leave that mystery to another .

In any event a stunning piece fitted on a later strap with Omega gold coloured buckle
