When you look at this watch and compare it to my Zenith Cairelli TP2 or even the Excelsior Park Monte Carlo I had recently you may will notice the striking similarity and it’s no mistake because all three watches share many of the same components as the cases and dials were for some reason not all used by Zenith and so found their way to these other two named manufacturers
The manual wind Valjoux 7731 chronograph movement can be found in many exceptional chronographs and in this example, it performs exactly as it should, resets to zero and keeps great time
The case is a great size at 43mm and solid stainless steel and has great wrist presence .The dial and sub dials are in amazing condition, original and unmolested, and the lume on the dial and the hands have lovely colour.
These were produced in very limited number during the 1960’s and at the time Bulova were a very well respected manufacturer, producing some great homage pieces and this has all the character of a terrific military chronograph of the period like the Zenith but without the price tag.
This a great piece offering an awful lot of watch and style t great value and I can almost guarantee you will not find anyone else wearing the same one.
