This really is a very rare opportunity to buy what can only be described as a time warp piece from one of the most famous vintage chronographs makers there is, Doxa. The watch is very rare for a number of reasons, firstly the beautiful original multicolored dial with blue and red tachymetre scales, which is totally original and unrestored and is in near pristine condition. Secondly the case, unlike so many this is 38 mm excluding the crown, with a very thin bezel the watch wears hugely.
The watch is running the Doxa variant of the world renowned Valjoux 22 movement, equal in quality to the Omega 321 and lets not forget both Patek and Rolex used valjoux derived movements in their chronographs which is an indication of their quality if one was needed.
Doxa chronographs running Valjoux movements are already high desirable and in waterproof cases command significant sums of money, finding them with original multicolor dials is extremely rare and this is the first example we have seen in this 38 mm excluding crown case, a truly stunning and remarkable piece.
