The Elgin watch company has a tremendous heritage and history and are famous for making some of the most reliable and wearable divers watches of the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Formed in 1864 in the USA Elgin made high quality watches designed to compete with good quality Swiss watches on every level. Elgin watches were made to the highest quality and they strived throughout the 20th century to be the very best. Unfortunately Elgin went bust in the mid 1960’s and the brand was picked up by the Swiss, continuing the tradition of high quality watch making.
This Elgin diver is a remarkable watch, using an A Schild 1903 movement it is of the highest quality, schild movements are of such good quality that even Breguet used them in what is now one of the most valuable divers watches on the planet, the Breguet Marine 5827. The stainless steel case is in beautiful condition, the Pepsi rotating bezel is in excellent original condition and contrasted by what we can only describe as one of the most vibrant starburst grey dials we have ever seen.
This is a beautiful divers watches, which is extremely wearable and robust at the same time as having a real wrist presence thanks to the at 38 mm solid stainless steel case ,stunning dial and Pepsi bezel.
