This stunning solid 18K rose gold ‘bumper’ automatic is a truly special watch, not only because it is hewn from rose gold and accompanies by a stunning waffle dial but because of its size, its no slouch at 37mm excluding the crown.
Jumbo watches are becoming highly desirable and much sought after and Omega are amongst the most renowned. Their quality was second to none and this example is up there is terms of quality.
The watch is running a bumper movement, so known because it was Omegas first automatic calibre (344) and the rotor only spun half way around the case and bumped from two springs, an extremely robust design. The watch dates to circa 1952 and considering it is 66 years old it is in stunning condition, it has some light wear on the case and a few marks from over the years, the dial also shows some patina but it is a truly beautiful piece and is only enhanced by this.
A great piece and a real stand out addition to any collection
