Omega 30-T2 18ct Rose gold SOLD

It is often said something needs to be seen to be believed but trust me my clumsy words or photographs don't do this piece justice

The fine 18ct rose gold case measures 35mm excluding the crown which is considered very large for the period but makes it very wearable today, it is finished with delicate turn down lugs .The guilloche dial  shimmers in the light and sets off the gold spike hour markers and dauphine hands. The rear of the case still displays the "Industria Argentina 18K 750" markings to show the case was made in Argentina and is solid 18ct gold .

The practice of importing movements and then fitting them to a movement manufactured in the country of origin was very common and due to high import duties in certain countries for gold items .the same was commonplace in England with Denison and Shackleton the two main case makers

The 30-T2 movement is numbered 10681874 which dates this piece circa 1944 and is as new.

This watch does need to be seen to appreciate that it has survived the last 70 years in this fantastic condition.
