This is what I love about this hobby. Often it's not the most valuable or rarest watch that excites me, sometimes it's just a really good honest watch that has been owned by one person all its life and been worn, but still cherished .
I bought this piece direct from its owner who had been given it as a gift in the early 1970's when it was new and although it shows some honest signs of wear it is, barring the glass, 100% original
The famous 861 movement
Running on the famous cal 861 manual wind movement ,the same movement that went to the moon in the Speedmaster this is a stunning example of the often over shadowed brother of the Speedmaster and as such represents fantastic value at the moment ,
What sets this piece apart is the beautiful blue dial which is the hardest one to find in any condition let alone one as nice as this .I have fitted this piece to new Grey leather sports strap which complements the piece very well. The solid stainless steel 39 mm case has the seahorse engraved case back .
