Omega Speedmaster Legendary Moonwatch ref 311.30.42.30.01.006

Regular visitors to this site will need no reminder that I am huge fan of the Omega brand and one firm favorite remains the Speedmaster or Moonwatch as it is so often referred to and as talk increases about upcoming return missions to the moon its highly likely that interest in the watch worn on all previous moon landing s will increase so although this is a thoroughly modern watch it is a true relative of those original timepieces 

This OMEGA Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” features a black dial covered by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and graced by a small seconds sub-dial, 30-minute recorder and 12-hour recorder along with a central chronograph hand. The black bezel, with its tachymetric scale, is mounted on a 42 mm stainless steel case and presented on a matching bracelet.

At the heart of this chronograph is OMEGA’s mechanical calibre 1863, a descendent of the legendary manual-winding movement worn on the Moon, visible through the transparent case back. This timepiece is offered with a special Moonwatch presentation box which contains a "NATO" strap, a strap for astronauts, a tool to change the bracelet and a book highlighting Speedmasters adventures.

This example was supplied direct from Omega in November 2020 and remains unworn with case back stickers still in place and is supplied with all accessories and booklets provided when new
