About this watch

Lets be clear about this in 2019 the world will celebrate the day a human stood on another world for the first time and that human wore an Omega speedmaster powered by a caliber 861 movement .Now whilst earlier Ed whites regularly sell for over £40,000 these days the actual watch worn when man landed on the moon is still priced by comparison very modestly .

its  true that that watch had nothing on the case back other than the speedmaster logo but during that year Omega launched this model with the first reference to NASA and the moon landings and that model was in production for a very short period until 1971 when the wording on the back changed to what it was to remain for decades.

It is my belief that the sleeper i the world of Speedmasters is this  rare straight writing reference from the moon landings period

This watch is complete and intact, the B2 bezel is in excellent original condition, it has the original Type A3 24 tooth crown. The watch has the correct 321XXXXX million serial number and the movement is pristine and serviced. The hands have been replaced by service hands but the originals are all included in the sale, along with one spare link in the bracelet.

The watch is fitted with its original 1039/ 4/71 bracelet and 516 end links. many of you will realise that the strap and end links alone would sell for £1500 and I am happy to sell the head separately if required.

This is a remarkable watch in original condition and a complete set, all of which are becoming increasingly hard to find for this model and variant. The watch is supplied with the original red inner box and cream outer box (no papers).
