About this watch
This is a very early example of the Rolex Explorer 1016 dated to 1962 with correct serial number and inside case back stamped 11/62. After its launch the 1016 Explorer was in manufacturer for over 26 years
The original dial on this excellent example has aged to a unique stunning chocolate brown pattern yet all original dial marking’s and lume pots are clearly defined
The 36 mm stainless steel case holds the Cal 1560 automatic movement and retains nice case definition and is in great condition overall
Fitted to a very high-quality vintage Rodania sports strap with Rolex buckle
This is a great honest original example of the superb Explorer 1016 and a watch that is easy to wear for any occasion whilst also a great investment for the future
