Originally manufactured for Pan AM pilots, this very useful watch soon became the must have time piece for professional travellers, due to the ease of reading dual time zones.
The serial number on this piece dates the watch to 1973 but as was the norm back then these watches could sit on dealers shelves for some time so it’s not unusual to see the date of sale as 1975 however what great is that this watch was sold to a UK serviceman from the MOD NAAFI stores ,I love a watch with history and this piece was owned by the same man all its life ,we will never know what action it may have seen but its nice to wonder where in the world it may have travelled during the past 50 years .
The watch is in lovely condition, dial is all original and the lume is nicely aged, and the original Pepsi bezel insert has faded to a unique finish.
The 40 mm stainless steel case is crisp and has nice fat lugs not showing signs of being previously polished, the watch is fitted to a later improved service 93150 steel oyster bracelet, no doubt changed during a service at a later date.
This amazing set comprises of:
Original Rolex punched papers stamped by NAAFI stores serial 3245XXX
Original Your Rolex instruction booklet dated 1973
Rolex document wallet
Rolex calendar card
Rolex 1675 tag
Inner and outer box
