In this day and age, it’s hard to find a vintage watch that can still surprise and yet the 6094 is an early Oyster date reference that has some surprising features that make it very collectable, and it remains currently very affordable. This completely original example looks like many other pieces of the time yet on closer investigation the lugs have pin holes on the 9 o’clock side but none on the 3 o’clock side and the Rolex super oyster crown is a non-screw type that was only in production for a very short time, lastly and for me the best is the date wheel on which all numerals are red.
The 34mm steel case is correctly stamped Rolex and 6094
The dial is in amazing condition, all original and decorated with gold embossed coronet and hour markers finished with bamboo leaf hands and blued steel second hand.
The hour and minute hands still retain the original Radium lume which as expected still reacts under blue light, if you look closely at the original dial around the ten o’clock its possible to make out a slight burn where the hands where static for many years.
The manual wind movement is one of the last examples of the cal 740 super balance which is covered by our 12 months mechanical guarantee.
The watch dates to circa1952 and is fitted to a very desirable slightly later Rolex 6635 stretch bracelet date stamped 4/65, this is also in great condition with full stretch links still working.
A great interesting vintage Rolex at a price seldom seen.
