The sultan of Oman was known as one of the most important watch collectors in the world and watches were also a favourite type of gift, in one example he is reported to have given 80 SAS soldiers signed Rolex sea dwellers in the early 80’s for assistance given or not depending on what research you do !
This Rolex perpetual date would have been given as a gift as a token of appreciation from the Sultan himself. The signed dial is also decorated with solid gold hour markers and is flawless.
The 34mm stainless steel case is in excellent condition and the smooth bezel gives it a modern look. All serial numbers are clear and date this piece to 1981.
The watch is fitted to the original Oyster bracelet which like the rest of this piece is in excellent condition.
