I sometimes stop and realise how lucky I am to do what I do and please bear with me its not an arrogant statement its just I really do enjoy finding new gems and they don't have to be hugely expensive to excite me and this solid gold Rolex is just such a piece.
This classic solid 9ct gold Rolex with hallmarks from London assay office, 1959, when demand was high for slim cased simple dial solid gold watches and this 33mm case with absolutely unpolished coin edge detail is outstanding and literally as good as the day it was made.
The solid gold case was manufactured by Shackleton's who like Denison and Britton and sons manufactured cases and bracelets for Rolex in the UK during the period when import duties for manufactured gold pieces coming into the UK where so high it was common practice for the Swiss watch companies to have the cases and bracelets made in the destination country ,This practice also allowed for a much more varied designs of cases as demonstrated by this excellent coin edge case.
The highly regarded manual winding cal 1210 keeps excellent time and has a power reserve that would shame many modern watches and is covered by our 12 month guarantee.
The watch is fitted to a later Hirsh brown crocodile look strap that complements it very well .
I am sure it wont be long before this great piece is on the wrist of a very happy new owner.
