I would normally recommend against having Rolex service a vintage watch as to many times I have seen dials changed on an otherwise lovely watch but to be honest when they are told to leave the original parts and just service the movement etc and bring the case back to its original glory then you can end up with a superb watch and to be honest I think it would be almost impossible to find a nicer 5512 with early matte dial than this one and having just returned from the Rolex service centre the watch still carries the balance of the 2 year Rolex warranty
This Submariner 5512 example dates to 1967 as confirmed by the inner case back dated 11/67 and correct 1.64 million serial number, The dial seen on this example is among the hardest to find in any condition and examples like this are rarely ever seen in the wild, for further information follow the link to an exceptionally detailed piece of work

The original matt dial with tritium hour markers is in superb condition and the colour of the lume needs to be seen in daylight to truly appreciate it and the appearance of the watch is further enhanced by the original tritium pip on the bezel matching the dial perfectly.
This great watch comes complete with the Rolex service papers dated March 2022, Total cost of the Rolex service was £1700
The Oyster bracelet is ref 93150 and clasp code is for a later replacement which is not uncommon as the rivet bracelets of the period were notoriously poor.
The watch also has the Rolex inner and outer boxes
Great examples of the 5512 are so hard to find and having an exceptional piece like this is a real treat and I do hope the next owner appreciates just what a special watch this is.
