The Monte Carlo 7169 can be found in two variants the black and grey as seen in earlier Tudor chronographs or this striking combination of pale grey dial with bright blue counter and minute track and sub dials highlighted by bright orange markers finished by a matching bright blue bezel.
The 7169 model was the only 7100 reference to feature a rotating hour bezel which allowed the user to read the time in a different time zone
The 40mm stainless steel case is finished with bold square crown guards and 7mm chronograph pushers, this comes from the era when the best Rolex delivered was a much smaller Daytona these are watches that are so undervalued in my opinion although I suspect that will change very soon.
This example dates to c1974 and the range was discontinued n 1977 making finding good examples a real challenge and this is certainly worthy of a place in any collection although heaven forbid it just languishes in a safe for the next 30 years, this is a watch that should be worn daily, it keeps perfect time, its robust and soooo cool!
The most important improvement of the 7100 series over its predecessor was the high frequency manual winding Valjoux 234 which in this example comes fully serviced, keeps perfect time and all chronograph functions perform exactly as they should and as with all our pieces comes with a full 12-month guarantee
The watch comes with its original steel bracelet but as you can see on the photograph, I also include a perfectly matching blue leather with orange stitching which wears very well.
The case definition on this watch is absolutely first class and I doubt a nicer example can be found.
