The Yema Superman was first developed for diving professionals in 1963 with a water resistance of 300m it was a serious tool watch for professionals. It is also equipped with a safety brake stop (or “Bezel Lock”) which gives it a unique look. Considered indestructible, the Superman was chosen at the time by the French Air Force to equip its pilots. , The patent pending reference on this early model is referring to the bezel lock system.
Many variations of this emblematic French manufactured model would follow to reach a wider audience. The model seen here is the legendary reference 24.11.17 with “Blue Sunray” dial.
This is by far the nicest example of this vintage dive watch I have ever seen and although dating to from the 1960’s it looks in remarkable condition, The 39 mm stainless steel case shows very little signs of wear. And the automatic movement with quick set date works exactly as it should
