Rolex Daytona Ref 116520 Mk 1 Panna Dial with Thin Hands

The P series of the Daytona 116520 from the year 2000 is famous for two reasons.  This was the year Rolex switched to its own 44 jewel cal 4130 automatic movement, but they  also changed the white dials, and the original dials of this short run uniquely age to a wonderful warm cream over time. This makes it a highly prized and sought-after piece much like the earlier “Patrizzi” dial Daytona its the flaws in the dial finish that attracts collectors that appreciate these processes create unique timepieces that will continue to age over time.

This example features the highly prized first release mark one dial used only on the very earlier examples of this reference which along with the original slim hands which were only seen on the pieces produced for the first few years
