About this watch

It is very difficult to explain to someone just how stunning an original untouched gilt gloss dial can be and I rarely see a photograph that does one justice ,This watch is exceptional the dial is flawless, all gilt lettering intact and completely original and the original Lume has aged to a wonderful warm cream colour ,for me the perfect combination .The icing on the cake is the original bezel insert has also uniquely aged to give a subtle change to the original Pepsi red and blue with the red  turning a much deeper tone with almost a bronze hue in certain light conditions Add to all of this the fact that when seen in direct sunlight the dial has also aged to a stunning tropical brown this really is a quite exceptional piece ,I can add that I rec3ently wore this at a meeting attended by some of the UKs respected Rolex collectors and they all commented on how nice the dial and bezel were so I can safely say that this is an example worthy of any collection and a watch I think anyone would be happy to wear .

The case and bracelet are equally stunning and the bracelet is the correct 7205 riveted design with number 80 end links

The watch serial dates it to 1964 which also corresponds to the case back stamp of 1V/64 and bracelet stamp of 2/65

The watch runs on the Rolex cal 1560 automatic movement which comes recently serviced and guaranteed for 12 months.

Originally introduced in 1959 the GMT Master ref 1675 remained in constant production for over 20years and has always been a firm favourite. Among the most highly prized are the scarce gilt dials and as with this example featuring the small triangle extra hour hand.

I will point out that in certain light conditions you can see the crazing on the plexi which isn't unusual for watches of this age and similarly there is a little loss of lume at 6 O'clock ,I have these as I received the watch but its a simple job to replace the plexi if required.

Its no secret that the market for modern Rolex watches has softened in the last couple of years but finding great vintage pieces remains my biggest challenge as the collectors and watch lovers that own them simply are not selling so I was delighted when this piece was released by a collector I have dealt with for many years as it gives a new owner the opportunity to enjoy a simply stunning vintage piece, that said I may be sad to see this particular piece leave me.

This piece is in stock and ready for worldwide shipping.
