This Mesiter-Anker ‘Porsche Design’ PVD chronograph can only be described as being in near new condition. Dating to circa 1978 it is one a a series of watches built and designed and then branded by a range of manufacturers, most famous Orfina/ Porsche Design. The watches were used privates, commercially and also in military application due to their robustness and design, especially with non reflective PVD coated stainless steel cases.
These PVD Chronographs are amongst the most iconic watch designs of the 1970’s and have truly stood the test of time, so much so that Porsche Design have just reintroduced an almost identical watch in to their heritage chronograph range.
Because so many were used commercially or for military use finding one in good condition is becoming increasingly difficult, finding one that could be mistaken for new is nearly impossible. The watch has a true tool watch looks with matt black PVD case and dial, the lunminous material has aged to a wonderful honey brown and the work horse 7750 Valjoux movement (dressed for Anker) is in stunning stock condition and working perfectly. The 41mm case is great housing for this watch and a perfect size for today
These watches are the ultimate combination of design (thanks to Porsche Design), practical durability and usability and would look equally as good with a suit as they do with a fatigues.
This is a rare chance to own a rapidly appreciating asset and a true icon of watch design than will only appreciate in value
