As a brand Tudor is definitely one that I think is a rising star and the old idea that Tudor lives in the shadow of Rolex is disappearing, However the big block chronographs I think are still one of the best value vintage chronographs currently available and this example from 1994 is among the best around.
The comparison between the Tudor chronographs and Rolex Daytona have been made on numerous occasions however I feel that the Tudor big block really does need to be appreciated in its own right, The 40mm case has a substantial heft to it and makes a real statement on the wrist whilst currently still being very affordable .
This early Tudor Oysterdate ref 79180 from 1994 is in the most desirable and hard to find format with the stunning silver dial complemented by black sub dials which are hard to find in any condition, but I doubt any can be found as nice as this example, this early piece also benefits from still having the Rolex stamped case back and crown
The 40 mm stainless steel case retains its crisp lines, and the correct 78360 Tudor bracelet with 589 end links is in equally fine condition.
The automatic cal 7750 movement keeps perfect time and all chrono functions perform as they should and like all our pieces it carries a full 12-month warranty.
This stunning watch comes complete in Original Tudor inner and outer boxes along with original papers dated 1994 .
Anyone looking for a quality vintage chronograph to wear everyday should really take a closer look at this piece.
